KONECRANES BRINGS GREATER SERVICE EFFICIENCY TO CONTAINER YARD IN SABAH PORT

On 31 Jan 2018, a launching ceremony for two Konecranes Noell STS cranes was heldin Sapangar Bay Container Port (SBCP). Delegates from the Konecranes management team, Mr. Tero Vallas, Operating Director & GM, Mr. Maurizio Altieri, Sales Director, Port Solutions APAC, Mr. Jerry Fann, Sales Director and Mr. Jacky Chen, Project Manager, went to Sabah port to attend this grand ceremony.

Afterthe successful delivery of 4 RTGs to Sabah port last year, the delivery of the 2STS cranes continues the friendly relations and cooperation between the two companies.
The ceremony was officiated by Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd Chairman Datuk Karim Bujang, witnessed by Suria Capital Holdings Berhad Chairman Datuk Faisyal Yusof Hamdain Diego,and Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd Managing Director Ng Kiat Min. Mr.Karim Bujang said: “This is in line with our policy to enhance performance of the port. We hope that ourplan to expand the jetty will be implemented, helping us make SBCP a preferred port in the region.”
Thelifting capacity of these two STS cranes is 41 tons under spreader, 50 tonsunder hook. With a lifting height of 36+15m, it brings high safety and efficiency for the terminal’s container handling activity.
A meeting was held in which Sabah Port's long-term investment plan and sustainable development strategy was introduced to the Konecranes management team.
