- At the 2008 Judo Players’ Night Event
On January 24, Doosan Chairman Yong-sung Park attended the 2008 Judo Players’ Night event held at Olympic Parktel in Bangi-dong Songpa-gu, Seoul, and gave a donation to the chairman of the Korea Judo Association, Jeong-haeng Kim, asking him to use it for the development of the local martial art. Mr. Park has served as the Chairman of the Korea Judo Association and the International Judo Federation.
At the event, Yong-sung Park said, “Judo has played a leading role in enhancing the nation’s prestige on the world stage. It is expected that the martial art will help the nation enter the ranks of the world’s Top Ten in terms of the total medal haul at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. I hope that my small donation will help the nation to harvest good results at this summer’s Olympiad.
The annual Judo Players’ Night event was originally conceived to help those interested in Judo to exchange friendship and goodwill with each other. Over 300 people who enjoyed good results at various contests held in 2007 were invited to this year’s event.
