A new 2010 compact diesel engine series, with power outputs up to 75kW, has been introduced by DEUTZ, one of the world largest independent manufacturers of diesel and gas engines.

The TD 2010 L04 is a 4 cylinder, in line, turbo charged, water cooled engine. Also available is the higher output TCD 2010 L04 model, with the addition of air to air charge cooling.

With outputs from 52kW to 74.9kW, both are available in two different configurations - an industrial version, suitable for construction equipment and other demanding applications, and an agricultural machinery version, ideal for prime movers such as tractors, with higher torque outputs.

They have a bore of 96mm and a stroke of 120mm, corresponding to a displacement of 3.47 litres. The version without charge air cooling can deliver a maximum power output of 64kW and the model with charge air cooling 74.9kW, both based on a rated speed of 2600.

The 2010 series engines feature direct fuel injection with a mechanical governor fitted as standard. Available as an option is an electronic governor, making them ideal for use in power train management systems.

Like all other models from DEUTZ they fully comply with EU Stage 111A and US EPA Tier 3 emissions legislation, with the 2010 engine concept capable of fulfilling the limits specified for the next EPA Tier 4 and EU Stage 111B levels.

They join well established engines such as the D2008 and the D2009 water-cooled 3- and 4-cylinder engine families, with outputs from 10kW to 50kW.
