Swisslog awarded major order by Thurella
The beverage company Thurella has commissioned Swisslog for the planning and realization of a high-bay warehouse at its Eglisau location. The order value for this project, which Swisslog will implement as general contractor, amounts to some MCHF 18.5.
With the construction of a fully automated high-bay warehouse in Eglisau, Thurella AG aims to reorganize its logistics operations and optimize processes. After the communal assembly of Eglisau approved a new land use regulation on 21 August, construction work – subject to the issuance of a building permit – is expected to begin late autumn 2007. The facility is scheduled to start operation by beginning of 2009. "This order allows Swisslog to once more prove its competence as a general contractor for complex logistics projects," notes Francis Meier, Head Region Europe 1 of Swisslog's Warehouse & Distribution Solutions division.
