AZUSA, CA — Thanks to the MHIA's new member, A.A.C. Forearm Forklift, Inc., moving furniture and mattresses will takes on new meaning: supporting the fight against breast cancer. Forearm Forklift, Inc. just joined our association last year and will be exhibiting at this year's show in Cleveland for the first time.

In 1998, Forearm Forklift opened up for business. “Months after offering the straps, we got orders not only from moving companies, furniture stores and home delivery organizations, but also from painters, flooring installers and carpet cleaners because they all had to move furniture before they started working and then move it all back when they were done. Dollies work, but they have wheels that can scuff floors and usually results in having to polish them back up which takes time,” noted Forearm's President Mark Lopreiato.

In 2000, Forearm's patent went from pending status to granted. Their patent number is 6,039,376. In 2007 they began airing their nationwide TV commercials which can be viewed at GetTheStraps.com They have been “on-the-air” for more than 3 years consecutively this month.

The company has grown and beginning 2010, A.A.C. is launching pink-packaged, pink moving straps because they’re proud supporters of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). In fact, a donation of $10,000.00 will be made by them to help fund breast cancer research.

BCRF is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer by providing funding for research and increasing public awareness about good breast health. BCRF has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for research since inception in 1993.

“My co-workers and I are proud to support the women who are looking after their own wellbeing,” said Forearm Forklift. “All of us here are committed to help protect women’s health and we’re impressed that BCRF is the most highly rated breast cancer organization in the U.S. In fact, it’s documented that over 85% of the resources raised by the Foundation go directly to research grants and awareness programs. They’re an amazing charity, with a great cause and we’re happy to support life-saving research as well!”

Forearm Forklift joins many other companies – Duraflame (duraflame.com), Coach (coach.com), Sephora (sephora.com), Delta Air Lines (delta.com) and Clinique (clinique.com) – that have “turned” pink to improve awareness and fight one of the most common causes of fatality in women. “The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is honored to have Forearm Forklift as a dedicated partner in our fight against breast cancer,” said Robbie Franklin, Director of Marketing at The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. According to 2009 findings from the American Cancer Society, women in the U.S. have a 1 in 8 chance of developing invasive breast cancer in their lifetime and a 1 in 35 chance of dying from breast cancer.

Forearm Forklift moving straps have a patented design that employs leverage which makes the furnishings carried seem much lighter. They also encourage proper body mechanics which reduce the chance of potential injury due to heavy lifting. The straps are also easy-to-use and adjustable. They move furniture off the ground which keeps dollies’ wheels off your sensitive floors.
