RED Australia will supply Oxiana with a variety of forklifts for materials handling duties at the metal miner’s various operations in Western Australia.

The forklift supplier will provide a 1.5t electric forklift for internal warehouse applications, a 2.5t diesel truck for small applications and small rack locations, a 5.0t diesel with air-conditioned cabin for unloading and loading freight and general deliveries, and a 13.5t diesel for handling scrap bins, long items and other heavy lifts.

According to the companies, the tender was not won on the factor of price. Rather, Red says it was seen to be offering the best value for money, and had the approval of the forklift operators.

The Komatsu brand forklifts have floating cabs and are said to have superior functionality and lead time. They feature a four year/4000 hour warranty.
