Linde Material Handling (MH) has once again received the Platinum Medal from EcoVadis, placing it among the top one percent of companies assessed by the global sustainability rating agency.
The recognition reflects Linde MH’s ongoing progress in corporate sustainability, with strong performance across all four EcoVadis evaluation pillars: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.
This news follows Linde Material Handling UK’s recent announcement of a major sustainability program across 14 UK depots, aimed at reducing its carbon footprint while supporting customers’ net-zero goals.
Work is already underway, with the integration of solar panels at its Bridgend site in Wales and Newton Aycliffe site in the North-East of England.
The company plans to expand renewable energy solutions across all its UK-owned facilities.
These initiatives are part of a broader roadmap to achieve CO₂ neutrality in Linde MH’s production facilities, based on a detailed analysis of its largest sources of emissions.
Dr. Arthur O’Sullivan, Regional Director of Linde Material Handling said: "Receiving the Platinum Medal from EcoVadis for the second year running, highlights the measurable progress we are making in sustainability.
“Our customers are increasingly looking for partners who are transparent about their environmental and ethical commitments, and this rating reflects our ongoing efforts to improve.
“We remain focused on making meaningful improvements - whether through the integration of renewable energy solutions or in new and evolving technologies - to reduce our footprint and contribute to a more sustainable industry.”
The EcoVadis rating process involves an in-depth assessment of practices, requiring companies to provide documented evidence to support all information provided.
Linde MH’s Fair-ON-Pay+ certification in Switzerland, recognising its commitment to gender-neutral pay, contributed to its improved score in the Labor & Human Rights category.
Additionally, the company’s ability to report specific sustainability performance indicators at the brand level - rather than just at the parent company level - enhanced its rating in the Sustainable Procurement category.
Linde MH’s sustainability efforts are guided by its Sustainability Report, first published in 2015 and continuously updated.
The report was a contributor to the EcoVadis rating and details key initiatives, performance metrics, targets and case studies covering areas such as Compliance and Responsibility, Good Employer, Health and Safety, Environment, Products and Solutions, Sustainability in the Supply Chain.
