San Diego port deploys 25 T electric forklift
转载 2024-04-10 15:03 forkliftaction Source:forkliftactionSan Diego’s Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal has deployed its first piece of zero-emission equipment, a 55,000 lb. (25 T) Wiggins Yard eBull battery electric forklift.
The terminal, operated by SSA Marine, plans to install a total of six zero-emission cargo machines over the next 12 to 18 months.
The giant forklift is called The Carrillo
The forklift, supplied by XL Lifts, has been named The Carrillo in honour of Joe Carrillo, SSA Marine’s regional vice president, who played a crucial role in the adoption of large-capacity electric forklift fleets across the country.
The Wiggins eBull is the first commercialised large capacity electric forklift manufactured exclusively in the US.
It uses fast charging lithium-ion batteries, making it the first high-capacity zero emissions forklift to run continuous shifts.
SSA Marine said the Port of San Diego installed electrical infrastructure to support the advanced zero-emission equipment.
The venture was partially funded by California’s Clean Off-Road Equipment (CORE) voucher program.
