转载 2021-01-07 09:08 Crown Source:CrownFor its organizational commitment to environmental sustainability, Crown Equipment Corporation, one of the world’s largest material handling companies, has earned the 2020 Green Supply Chain Award from Supply & Demand Chain Executive. This adds to the more than two dozen sustainability awards that have been earned by the company.
The 2020 Green Supply Chain Awardsrecognize companies that meet or exceed sustainability goals in the areas of sourcing/procurement, fulfillment/logistics, operations, product lifecycle management and other aspects of the supply chain.
“Sustainability is not considered its own program at Crown. Instead, we integrate our commitment to the health of the environment into everything we do and make,” said Brian Duffy, Crown’s director of corporate environmental and manufacturing safety. “This includes our corporate culture, day-to-day business processes, manufacturing operations, global business strategy and our products. Throughout Crown, we believe that protecting the environment is simply the right thing to do.”
The company has achieved many sustainability successes as a result of this commitment, including six Crown facilities attaining zero-landfill status, reclaiming more than 5,000,000 square feet of brownfield space for productive use and reducing carbon dioxide emissions globally by hundreds of metric tons a year through lighting upgrades. By making 85% of the components used in its forklifts, Crown is able to further reduce transportation mileage and greenhouse gas emissions.
While focused on reducing the carbon footprint of its own operations, Crown strives to design and manufacture lift trucks that enable customers to meet their individual environmental goals. Crown material handling products are designed for efficient, enduring performance. Designed to minimize the number of lift truck components, they can require less maintenance, produce less waste and last longer. Crown further extends lift truck sustainability through its Encore®program, which revitalizes and reconditions lift trucks for a second life while recycling 99% of used forklift components.
Crown has also been advancing alternative power sources with the V-Force®Lithium-Ion Energy Storage System, which enables its customers to operate more efficiently through increased battery runtime and extended life and reduce their overall battery requirements.
