JCB has announced that a number of LPG-powered models in its LPG Logistics Teletruk range are now Stage V compliant – four months ahead of the introduction of the new emissions standard.

Due to be implemented fr-om January 1, 2019, Stage V of the EU regulations will bring a new requirement to reduce Particulate Number (PN) emissions alongside continued control of particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions in the EU for non-road vehicles.
The Stage V compliant Kubota clean burn engines have been introduced to JCB’s LPG Logistics models TLT 25/27/30 with immediate effect.
In addition to meeting the latest emissions standards, the upgraded models are 25 per cent more fuel efficient than the versions they replace and, typically, can undertake a full eight hour shift on a single bottle of gas. This significant reduction in fuel consumption not only optimises truck up-time but also means total cost of truck ownership is minimised.
Offered with a two year manufacturer’s warranty, the Teletruks also benefit fr-om improved service access as well as enhanced engine airflow and protection – features that combine to deliver in excess of 10,000 hours of high performance operation, even in the most testing logistics applications.
All JCB Teletruk LPG Logistics models feature a closed loop hydrostatic driveline to deliver power, reliability and control. For example, the trucks can perform on gradients of 16 per cent – even when carrying a full load.
Thanks to its unique design, which allows pallets to be picked up or put away fr-om just one side, the JCB Teletruk can load or unloaded a curtainsided trailer in under 30 minutes, freeing up 32m² of yard space per vehicle.
The Teletruk is also the quickest and safest machine to unload shipping containers and vans.
Paul Murray, JCB’s Teletruk General Manager, said: “We are delighted that JCB can offer models in the best-selling Teletruk LPG Logistics range that already meet the EU’s latest emissions standards.
“Gas is the fuel of choice for industrial fork lift trucks customers and LPG-powered Teletruks are in operation across the world.
“With their emissions compliance and enhanced fuel efficiency, the upgraded LPG Logistics models represent an outstanding value proposition for logistics service providers everywhere.”
