National Fork Truck Safety Conference gets CPD seal of approval
转载 2015-07-21 11:36 FLTA Source:FLTAThe Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) has been awarded continuing professional development (CPD) accreditation for its National Fork Truck Safety Conference, which will be held at Loughborough University on 23rd September.
As a registered CPD provider the FLTA can now award 4 hours of CPD credits to Conference attendees.
The National Fork Truck Safety Conference, which is one of the most important safety events in the materials handling calendar, is on a roll as it has also been named as a Finalist in the prestigious Trade Association Forum (TAF) Best Practice Awards 2015.
FLTA Chief Executive Peter Harvey puts this success down to listening to those who work on or around fork lift trucks every day and sharing their tried and tested solutions to safety issues. He explains: “The conference will focus on peer-to-peer presentation - sharing best practice in a bid to reduce the stubbornly high levels of injuries, damage and death in premises of every size and in every sector.”
“Although it is widely accepted that the causes of FLT accidents never change, there is a tide of opinion - with the FLTA at its forefront - that for real change to occur, what’s needed is a change in awareness, attitudes and company culture.”
Speakers will highlight the importance of creating an environment where poor practice is simply not acceptable. The aim is to make everyone feel involved in the safety culture and responsible for policing it.
Peter continues: “The CPD accreditation underpins the value of what is being shared during the day. Whilst the role of the conference as a professional learning and development tool has always been valued by attendees, it is great to get this formalised - both for the FLTA and for delegates.”
The theme of the Conference is 3600 Safety - A holistic approach to fork lift truck safety. An approach driven by the FLTA not only through this Conference but also via its online Safer Site Program.
