The award was presented by the Great Place to Work Institute in a special ceremony in Sao Paolo and also saw the Perkins team collect first place in the “Celebrating”! category, which recognises the way a company acknowledges people’s accomplishments by stimulating the spirit of teamwork and creating an atmosphere of camaraderie.
More than 1,000 companies took part in the competition, organised by the Great Place to Work Institute in partnership with the Época business magazine.
Employees at these companies were asked to take part in a confidential survey which helped the Institute generate a ‘trust index’. Perkins Motores do Brasil Ltda came out with a ‘trust index’ of 91%, which compared favourably with the 84% average index achieved by the 30 best companies in the category of multinational companies with 100 to 1,000 employees.
“To be selected as the third best company to work for in our size category, was a fantastic achievement for Perkins Motores do Brasil Ltda,” said Wilson Loterio, general manager of Perkins’ manufacturing facility in Curitiba.
He continued: “It was a real honour for the team to be presented with this award, as everyone is so proud that we have achieved this important accolade which recognises our collective achievements.”
One of the world’s leading suppliers of off-highway diesel and gas engines in the 4 – 2000 kW (5 – 2800 hp) market, Perkins key strength is its ability to tailor engines precisely to meet customers’ requirements, which is why its engine solutions are trusted by more than 1,000 leading manufacturers in the industrial, construction, agricultural, materials handling and electrical power generation markets.
