On July 28, Foundation Ceremony of Sunward Industrial City & Establishment Ceremony for Sunward Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. was grandly held in Xingsha Industrial Base of Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone in Changsha Country, Hunan Province.

Leaders including Deputy Secretary and Vice Director of Hunan Provincial Standing Committee of the People’s Congress Chen Shuhong, Deputy Director-General of Hunan Science and Technology Bureau Huang Xinliang, Secretary of Party Working Committee of Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone (state-level) and Secretary of Changsha CPC Country Committee Yang Yiwen, Secretary General of China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA) Su Zimeng and persons respectively in charge of Hunan Provincial Commission of Development and Reform, Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Environmental Protection Bureau, Science and Technology Bureau, Changsha Municipal Government and Hunan Provincial  Machinery Industry Management Office attended the ceremony.

·Dedicated to Build the World Largest Manufacturing Base of Infrastructure Equipment

Sunward Industrial City, located in Shaxing Industrial Base of state-level Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, is invested and established by Sunward Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. As a new industrialized manufacturing base integrated with development and research, production, business, trial and checking, core and matching enterprises, Sunward Industrial City occupied a total floor area of 2,670 Mu with an investment of RMB 4.53 billion Yuan, which will realize an annual output value of more than RMB 20 billion Yuan and profits and taxes RMB 2.615 billion Yuan when the final construction is completed.

The first phase of Sunward Industrial City project uses nearly 1,000 Mu of land, mainly including manufacturing plants of large-scaled pile-driving machinery, modern rock drilling equipment, excavating machinery and construction machinery for military use. It is anticipated to reach more than RMB 8 billion Yuan of annual output after construction of the first phase, while the profits and taxes would have exceeded RMB 1 billion Yuan. According to the general planning of the whole project, the first phase would have finished construction and put into production and operation by the year 2012.

The second phase of construction will focus on the projects of establishing plants for small sized construction machinery, hoisting machines, special parts and accessories such as covering parts and high-spec hydraulic parts, and there will also build scientific and research centers including new technology centers, labs and trial manufacturing center for new products.

In the third phase, the related projects of Sunward will move into the First and Second Industrial Parks, and the development and establishment of new products and core matching enterprises will also be completed in this period.

With the faster development of Sunward’s collectivized strategy, continuous expansion of product categories and gradual widening of the industrial scale, Sunward was following the general trend to construct a new industrial base. On the foundation ceremony, Su Zimeng the Secretary General of China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA) pointed out that the construction of Sunward Industrial City would provide sufficient developing space for the construction machinery products branded in Sunward. Along with the enhancement of intensive degree, optimization of industrial chains and centralization of management, Sunward Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. was expected to experience another era of leap-forward development.  

Then, He Qinghua, the Chairman of the Board of Sunward Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. gave a speech on the ceremony. According to him, the construction of Sunward Industrial City was another milestone in the development history of Sunward Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., with great significance to be an important sign to show the starting point of the company’s second leap-forward development. In the future, this Industrial City would effectively handle with the bottleneck in terms of output capacity encountered by Sunward during the period of fast growth and also reduce the high logistic cost brought by the dispersion of industrial parks, which would increase the efficiency and rationality of the Park’s planning and would be helpful to meet the developing demands of equipment products in Sunward in the coming five to ten years.

Mr. He said on the ceremony that the built-up-to-be Sunward Industrial City would become the largest manufacturing base for infrastructure equipment in the world, the largest excavator manufacturing base in the Middle South area and one of the researching, manufacturing and matching park for large-scaled equipments in Hunan Province. At the meantime, the establishment of Sunward Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. symbolized the official starting of the collectivized development strategy of Sunward, under which the company would have been built to be a large manufacturing group in the equipment manufacturing area, involved in more than ten fields including military equipments, mining machinery and general aviation while keeping construction machinery as the mainstay products.

In recent years, the rapid development of construction machinery industry in China and the expansion of the industry scale succeeded in making China to be the largest construction machinery market in the whole world, playing a more and more important role during the development of global construction machinery industry.
