In June 2011 Konecranes acquired the service business assets of Spanish crane and service company Eleve S.L. The company is located in Badalona, 5 kilometers north of Barcelona, in Catalonia. The service business has approximately 20 employees. Eleve S.L. had net sales of approximately million 3 EUR in 2010. The value of the acquisition has not been disclosed.

Eleve S.L. was founded in 1969 and has established a strong position in the Barcelona area. The company’s employees have a reputation for competence and commitment with an excellent customer orientation and service attitude.

“This transaction with Eleve S.L. will enhance Konecranes’ service coverage significantly in the Barcelona area. It will also add some valuable technicians in Valencia and Zaragoza,” says Jürgen Dlugi, Country Manager. “Eleve’s offering and know-how complements that of Konecranes and will strengthen our position in this highly competitive environment”.

This acquisition complements Konecranes’ previous investments in the Spanish market. These include e.g. the acquisitions of Spanish crane sales and service companies Eydimen 2000 S.L. and Ausió Sistemas de Elevación S.L. in 2008. The new organization will be able to fully support the latest significant orders that Konecranes has received in Spain.

These activities will be consolidated into Konecranes’ books as of June 2011.
