RF Crane Systems Talks To Racks
转载 2010-10-20 09:32 myfen Source:myfenIndustrial Conveying (Aust) has developed a new technology for high rise warehouses that allows each crane to communicate with stationary object on its racks.
Unlike forklifts which can be expensive to operate and maintain, RF crane systems are an efficient alternative.
RF communications uses radio frequency in a high rise warehouse environment to ensure a tight communications link between the materials handling technology and the product facilitates rapid movement by the crane to gather stock.
The RF communications system translates into better management in warehousing environments with varied stock keeping units.
The technology is expected to gain ground over the next few years as energy and property prices increases making forklift operations more expensive.
According to managing director of Industrial Conveying, Don Erskine, companies want to achieve accuracy of selection during the materials handling process, but are finding it hard to reduce damage to product.
Industrial Conveying developed the high bay stacker system to help warehouse operators increase efficiency in space utilisation.
High bay stacker systems are essentially sortation systems managed by RF communications that allow fast and accurate use of very high spaces within a warehouse.
It combines with automatic truck loading systems for pre-assembly of loads waiting for the next truck to arrive, which makes a positive difference to operating costs. Loads can also be cubed to optimise truck space usage.
