In a year of change, that has seen an end to its ten-year relationship with Italian manufacturer OM, Komatsu Utility has reorganised its UK and European operations. With plans to strengthen the brand's electric and IC market share, increase its UK dealer coverage and introduce new innovations and products including its new electric counter balance range (AE50 / AM50) into Europe.
Key to the re-structuring, Komatsu has appointed Essex-based Company Ambassador Lift Trucks as its exclusive UK Importer. Already highly experienced in the industry, Ambassador will be responsible for supporting existing Komatsu dealers nationwide, while focussing on increasing Komatsu's market share with the appointment of additional dealers across the UK.
On 27 September, Komatsu Utility Company President and CEO Mr Isoda, and European General Manager Mr Goto visited Ambassador Lift Trucks to officiate the company's appointment as Komatsu UK Importer.
'We look forward to the new challenge ahead; we have an exciting future with Komatsu.'
Speaking at Ambassador's Witham headquarters Mr Isoda said: 'We are proud to appoint Ambassador as an importer, and we look forward to a successful long term partnership in the future.'
Ambassador's Sales Director Trevor De'Ath said 'We look forward to the new challenge ahead; we have an exciting future with Komatsu.'
In addition to growing the network of Komatsu UK dealers, Ambassador Lift Trucks will be responsible for UK sales, after-sales support and the supply of Komatsu spare parts to its dealers nationwide.
National Sales Manager Chris Bunn and Service Manager Ray Hilton joined Ambassador from OM Komatsu to support and develop the Komatsu UK Dealer Network. Chris Bunn said 'As Komatsu's UK importer we will be able to offer an extensive range of high quality products at a competitive cost to the dealer, and provide a level of service that we would expect ourselves from a manufacturer.'
Chris continued 'We are looking forward to launching the Komatsu AE50 and AM50 electric range to the UK at the beginning of next year.' The new trucks bring bold improvements - with the reduction of total operating cost, high productivity resulting from outstanding performance that nears that of an IC engine truck.
