Food Bank Receives new Equipment
转载 2010-09-14 15:15 yumasun Source:yumasunThe Yuma Community Food Bank normally gives to others, but on Monday it was on the receiving end of things.
Representatives with Yuma County were on hand to drop off several new items to the food bank.
It's all part of an $80,000 Community Development Block Grant.
The grant includes two electric forklifts, one pallet jack and additional items such as extra forklift and pallet jack batteries, a forklift scale, battery charger and watering kit purchased from Arnold Machinery.
The food bank uses the machinery, such as the forklift and scale, to receive, deliver and do inventory for its many customers.
Jerry Garcia, spokesman for the food bank, said it feels really good because all of their equipment is older.
“It's a great gift from them. It's a great opportunity for us to continue to grow and to continue to help customers of the community.”
The Yuma County Board of Supervisors approved the grant in early April.
