Quoting figures from the British Industrial Truck Association, it says that LPG trucks outsold diesel for both June and July and now accounts for 30.2 per cent of all counterbalance trucks sold.
This compares to 34.7 per cent for diesel and 35.1 per cent for electric.
“BITA figures also show that monthly LPG sales have increased year on year every month since May,” it said.
Jim Moyes, Calor’s forklift truck specialist, said: “LPG avoids the lengthy charging periods associated with electric trucks and, as a cleaner burning fuel than diesel, LPG results in less potential for oil contamination and reduced overall engine wear.
