Chongqing-Ottawa Clean Energy Technological Seminar was held in Chongqing on April 16, 2008. Canadian research personnel disclosed that Canada had developed and manufactured the first hydrogen forklift in the world in Chongqing.

Personnel from Canada said that they had researched the commercial operation of future energy—hydrogen in Zongshen PEM (Canada) Chongqing Hydrogen Energy Co., Ltd. earlier 3 years ago. Till now, they have developed three generation of hydrogen fuel cell and manufactured global first hydrogen forklift in Chongqing, which is expected to put into commercial use soon.

Canada owns the largest research and development base of hydrogen fuel cell in the world. In these 3 years, Zongshen PEM broke through continuously on aspects of research and development of small fuel cell in Chongqing and had applied for more than 20 patents. Presently they have developed two-wheel motorcycle, three-wheel motorcycle for disabler and forklift which are all driven by fuel cell. Among them, hydrogen forklift is better in the features of environmental protection and durability compared with traditional petroleum, diesel and battery forklifts.

That high-quality bio-diesel refined from waste fried-oil and vegetable oil can be supplied for automobiles, small wind turbine can be operated to generate power in any places and waste bio-gas can be transformed into low-sulfur liquid material to generate power are all high-tech clean energy projects which are expected to walk into our citizen’s life. On the seminar, Canadian experts and enterprises brought the above energy projects to search for cooperative partners. Tens of enterprises and universities in Chongqing met with them.
