With an ever-growing demand for its apprenticeship programme Perkins Engines is once again seeking out highly motivated individuals to join its latest intake this September.
Perkins already has 40 apprentices on its three year programme and is looking to recruit another 20 individuals able to work both on their own and as part of a team.
To recruit for both its advanced apprenticeship and its business studies scheme, Perkins is hosting an open evening at its site on Tuesday March 4.
The event, which runs from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, will be held in the Forum at Perkins’ Eastfield site. Free car parking will be available at Gate 4.
The open evening will give individuals an insight into what both schemes have to offer and will show first hand the excellent opportunities that are available at one of the world’s largest and most successful engineering companies.
A range of workshops will be held including: how to apply and the application process; an overview of the qualifications gained as part of the schemes; a chance to hear from current apprentices and business trainees about their experiences with Perkins; and the chance to perform some of the tasks undertaken by an apprentice.
Perkins' machine centre of excellence manager Tony Green said: “The apprentices play a key role in our organisation as we equip them with the skills required to maintain complex automated production machinery.
“They provide the organisation with a pipeline of talent and working alongside our existing employees ensures that our people have the expertise and experience to maintain our competitiveness.”
Last year’s open evening was attended by more than 350 people.
