Electric lift truck manufacturer enters branding agreement with Komatsu to distribute IC trucks.
By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 1/11/2008--Ohio-based Crown Equipment Corp., a leading manufacturer of electric lift trucks, today announced a branding agreement with Komatsu Forklift U.S.A. to distribute internal combustion lift trucks.
The new brand of internal combustion trucks will be marketed under the name Hamech (pronounced Hay-meck). The products will be based upon Komatsu’s current model range.
According to the company, the move will allow Crown-owned dealers to offer a single brand of internal combustion lift trucks and a consistent level of aftermarket support. All parts orders, service support and warranty for Hamech will be managed by the Crown distribution network, just as they are now for Crown-manufactured products.
Crown Equipment Corporation has 40 Crown-owned dealers and 62 independent dealers in the United States and Canada.
Crown ranked fifth in Modern Materials Handling’s latest ranking of the world’s largest industrial lift truck suppliers. Komatsu ranked seventh.
