Genie® S™-125 Telescopic Boom Wins Roads & Bridges Gold Contractor's Choice Award
The Genie® S™-125 Telescopic Boom was recently recognized by a readership of more than 21,000 road and bridge construction and maintenance contractors for its significant contribution to their work. The S™-125 received a Gold Contractor’s Choice Award (CCA) from Roads & Bridges magazine, the top honor in the Aerial Work Platforms category.
Voted on earlier this year and announced in the July issue of Roads & Bridges, the CCAs are voted on by more than 21,000 contractors. The criteria for voting is simple — based on the categories in the program, the contractors choose the equipment they prefer to use in their operations and, in this instance, the Genie S™-125 came out on top of the aerial work platforms category.
About the Genie® S™-125 Telescopic Boom
The Genie® S™-125 Telescopic Boom combines maximum reach with exceptional maneuverability, ideal for a bridge maintenance or construction project. It features rugged diesel engine options, four-wheel drive and four-wheel steer capabilities, and foam-filled rough terrain tires. It has a 360˚ continuous rotation turntable for quick and flexible positioning while its minimal tail swing allows the operator to maneuver in tight workspaces. The axles on the S™-125 extend and retract from the platform while driving for stability, ease of operation and convenient transport.
The Genie® S™-125 has a horizontal outreach between 75 ft (22.86 m) and 80 ft (24.38 m) and working heights of 106 ft (32.48 m) to 131 ft 2 in (40.15 m). An out-and-up articulating jib boom option allows an additional 5 ft (1.52 m) of horizontal reach and height plus 135˚ of working range. The 8 ft (2.44 m) front-entry platforms can be rotated to exactly where needed and are self-leveling throughout the range of motion.
The CCAs will be officially presented during the ARTBA Annual Meeting this October in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
