Construction project for a new MANITOU spare parts distribution centre

The MANITOU organisation have finalised plans for the construction of a spare parts distribution centre on the Ancenis site (Savinière business park). This centre will both accompany and facilitate growth in the SPARE PARTS sector and provide a logistical organisation that is in phase with the needs of their clients.

MANITOU GROUP TURNOVER 2005: 988.2 million Euros
MANITOU Spare Parts activity turnover 2005: 106.7 million Euros
Objective is to double turnover between 2004 and 2014.
The steps in the project:
acquisition in 2006 of a 13 hectare site close to the Ancenis motorway exit;
construction in 2006 of two buildings with 22,000 m² of warehouse space and a covered 5,500 m² concourse to meet requirements up until 2010;
Building work to commence in April 2006 with handover of buildings in February 2007;
possible 6,000 m² extension to warehousing after 2010 to meet requirements up until 2020.
The project components:
incorporation of new, high added-value handling processes and equipment (tray, pallet and package conveyers, storage and retrieval systems, use of radio-frequency and audio technologies for picking with universal implementation of bar code use).
Installation of management and optimisation systems for warehousing and transportation in order to cope with rapidly growing volumes and an increasingly international flow of materials.
A «project mode» organisation, with the formation of a transverse project team.
Investment:
An overall budget of 23 million Euros to cover construction and equipment.
