The new 8-Series reach forklifts recently introduced by Toyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA) are delivering safety, reliability and comfortable operation in a range of applications. The 8FBRE Series models expand Toyota's range of 8-Series counterbalance battery-electric and internal combustion engine forklifts.
The lifting capacity of TMHA’s new narrow aisle battery-electric reach forklift trucks ranges from 1.2 tonnes to 1.6 tonnes with a maximum lift height of 8.5 metres.
According to TMHA national sales and product manager Jim Lobow, the new 8FBRE Series reach trucks provide a versatile option for companies looking for a simple, practical reach forklift that gets the job done safely and efficiently. He added that the new 8-Series reach trucks fit the needs of small to medium sized businesses that would typically use the forklift during a single shift operation.
Key features of the 8FBRE Series reach forklifts include fork movements simplified with easy-to-use fingertip control levers; pedal layout similar to a car; and electronically controlled 180-degree or 360-degree steering providing easy and precise manoeuvrability. These features enhance the degree of control and enable fast and smooth operation for the user.
The degree of adjustability and customisation available to operators is a major advantage in the new 8FBRE Series reach forklift. Key benefits include an ergonomically sound design with the seat and steering console fully adjustable by the operator; height of the cab floor adjustable to three different positions if required; and settings customisable for maximum speed and acceleration as well as automatic braking and steering sensitivity.
Safety features in the new 8FBRE Series include PIN-code start-up, automatic par
king brake, clear view mast and overhead guard, tilting forks (optional), emergency cut-off and electronic speed control. The regenerative braking technology transfers brake energy back into the battery to provide extended run times between charging and help reduce operating costs.
