The busy schedule of seminars during IMHX 2010 at the NEC has been enhanced, as I.D. Systems has announced the content of the session it is hosting on Wednesday 17th November at 10am.

Alexander Glasmacher, I.D. Systems’ vice president of European sales & marketing, will be speaking on the subject of Fork Lift Fleet Management: Reducing fleet costs and increasing plant safety.

The operation of forklift fleets to fulfil intralogistics demands is a challenging task – both from the costs associated with operating a fleet and with respect to the safety implications. Damage to fork lift trucks accounts for 40% of annual fleet maintenance costs and 30% of fatalities caused by goods vehicles involve a fork lift truck. A wide variety of fork lift fleet management systems exist on the market today to help companies in the automotive, consumer goods, retail and logistics industries reduce costs and increase safety within their fleet management operations.

Alexander Glasmacher’s workshop is designed to outline the most important criteria for choosing a fleet management system – whether you operate a large fleet across multiple sites, you are a dealer with significant short and long term rental business or you are a business that operates a dozen fork trucks just at one site. Furthermore, the workshop will outline case examples of saving cost and driving down impacts.

I.D. Systems is an international supplier of a full range of fleet management systems – be it simple access control systems to multi-function wireless systems. Together with its Basingstoke subsidiary didBox Ltd. and its Düsseldorf subsidiary I.D. Systems GmbH, the company has installed solutions on more than 35,000 vehicles in more than 380 sites in Europe and North America.

Alexander Glasmacher joined I.D. Systems in 2006 to expand its European operations. He works with a multitude of customers, OEMs and dealers across Europe to implement fleet management solutions and is also very knowledgeable of the competitive environment. Mr. Glasmacher holds a BA degree in Economics from Stanford University/USA and an MBA degree from INSEAD/Fontainebleau/France.
