Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) achieved its 16th consecutive year with no labor disputes since 1995.
On June 12, HHI labor union members cast their votes on the 2010 collective bargaining agreement negotiated between the labor union and management, and the majority turned out to approve the agreement.
The bargaining is noteworthy considering the fact that HHI’s labor union used to be one of the most aggressive unions in Korea. The agreement was reached on the consensus that a harmonious relationship between the labor union and management is crucial to maintain sustainability under the still uncertain economic prospective despite signs of economic recovery.
