Doosan Group Yonkang Foundation (Y.H. Park, Chairman) offered overseas economic study tours to 89 teachers of elementary, middle and high schools from July 12th to August 2nd.
The teachers, who were selected thorough recommendations by the 16 metropolitan and provincial offices of education will take tours to overseas industrial facilities, including Samsung Electronics’ semiconductor factories in Shenzhen and Volkswagen’s auto plant and Shanghai, in three groups for eight days each.
Chairman Park said, “With china having emerged as a global economic power in such a short period of time, the experiences of teachers taking a first-hand look at its rapid development will help cultivate the future human resources that will spearhead the Korean economy.”
Meanwhile, the teachers’ overseas economic tour program is a revamped program of the foundation’s academic history study tours for history teachers, which was conducted from 1989 to 2008.
