Certainly Flexi Narrow Aisle, UK-based manufacturer of the Flexi range of articulated forklift trucks, has confidence that there is a real requirement and has announced an investment of over in £1 million in its short term rental (STR) fleet. The investment means that Flexi now has over 300 trucks in its STR fleet – which it believes to be considerably more than any other articulated forklift specialist.

Flexi trucks can be hired from between one week and 12 months and include full maintenance and service support in the weekly rental cost, plus the average age of the trucks in the company’s short term hire fleet is now less than 4 years old. Flexi Narrow Aisle’s sales and marketing director, John Maguire, explains the company’s strategy, saying:

“There is a growing trend towards the use of Flexi articulated truck technology across all industry sectors and short term rental is increasingly seen as an attractive way of quickly acquiring additional lift truck capacity by more and more companies to support seasonal peaks and the increased business levels. Short term rental appeals to companies for various reasons but operational and budgetary flexibility are perhaps the biggest drivers. Companies can add short term rental trucks to their fleet to cover busy periods while finance directors can find short term contracts useful as the trucks do not always need to appear in the user company’s balance sheet.”
