On October 11, 2012, under the invitation from Wang Huiming the General Manager of Forklift Sales Department in BYD, Chinaforklift.com (www.chinaforklift.com, English version: www.forkliftnet.com) arrived at BYD Forklift Factory in Huizhou, Guangdong Province, and gained warm receipts from the superiors of BYD Forklift Division.

General Manager Wang told Chinaforklift.com that the forklift market in China had an expansive development space, especially electric forklifts, which had a stronger development potential on domestic market. With the continuous improvement of national economy, people posed a higher requirement on the eco-friendly feature, safety and high productivity of the forklifts, and the relative supporting policies issued by the government posed a higher standard on the industrial vehicles as well. In the European and American countries, the usage rate of electric forklifts was up to 70%, far more than that of internal combustion forklifts. But it was the opposite in domestic China, and thus BYD launched a number of self-manufactured high-end electric forklifts based on the advantages as an auto maker.

BYD electric forklifts have been designed and tested for many times in these three years in order to assure the quality and serviceability of the equipment. Insisting on the concept of Technology Directed and Innovation Oriented, BYD employs 150 professional technical staff on the development and research of electric forklift, among whom 2 are Doctors, 32 Masters and 97 graduates from National 211 Key Universities in the field of electrical equipment and hydraulics. The company is now of the capacity to design and manufacture counterbalanced electric forklifts, electric pallet trucks, electric reach trucks and electric stackers.

When talking about the products of the same category on the market, General Manager Wang said that the iron alkaline battery technology applied on BYD electric forklifts was initiative in the world and was widely used in the field of industrial vehicles for the first time. At present, iron alkaline battery technology has been used on BYD E6 electric cars and E9 electric buses. The advantages lying in iron alkaline batteries, such as safety, eco-friendly and efficiency would be the developing trend in the future. When compared with the products of the same kind in the industry, the forklifts with iron alkaline batteries was endowed with lower lifecycle cost, which made BYD more confident in the popularity of BYD electric forklifts in the coming years,

Accompanied with General Manager Wang and the technological staff, the Manager of Chinaforklift.com visited the manufacturing workshop of BYD forklifts in which the workers exhibited series of forklift products. The technological staff introduced the advantageous features of BYD electric forklifts, including the configuration of three-phase AC non-synchronous motor, intelligent electrical control system, battery management system (BMS), brake energy recycle and automatic balanced control system for forks, which were advanced among the electric forklifts on domestic and overseas market. Moreover, the instruments on the forklifts were added new functions such as using Chinese to display the specifications and alarming when breaking the speed limit. These innovative technologies are duly relying on the efforts of the development and research team in BYD, who add new technologies to push forward the development of industrial vehicle industry.

It was informed that BYD electric forklifts were shined at the 8th Guangzhou International Brand Forklift & Accessories Exhibition (BFE 2012 for short) for the first time and gained concerns from the professionals in the field. The customers were highly interested in BYD products and enquired the detailed information after the exhibition.

BYD told Chinaforklift.com that the company would carry series of forklift products to CeMAT Asia 2012 which will be held on October 29 in Shanghai, to provide the customers with more advantageous equipment.
