The 112th China Import & Export Fair (Canton Fair 2011) was grandly opened at Guagnzhou Pazhou Complex at No. 380, Yuejiangzhong Road, Haizhu District in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province on October 15, 2012. The duration and scale of the exhibition kept staying at the same level when compared with last year, with a total exhibition area of 1,160,000 square meters and the number of exhibition stands reaching 59509. Up to 24840 exhibition enterprises at home and abroad attended the fair. It was informed that the exhibition rate of the attending enterprises was improved, and more than 800 exhibition stands were set for the branded products, which were signs that the quality of the fair and the structure of the exhibitors became optimized.

 It was after 2001 when China officially entered World Trade Organization (WTO) that the Canton Fair began to frequently appear on the international market. In the first ten years in the new century, Canton Fair had been standing on the starting line of a new ear.

Canton Fair 2012 left several zones for the import products at the first and third phases of the exhibition complex, and there were 552 enterprises from 44 countries and districts in the world attending these zones. Liu Jianjun, the spokesman of Canton Fair and Vice Director of China Foreign Trade Centre participated that the purchasers at this fair would equal the number of the past years and the rate of the deals was not expected to fluctuate too much although the situation was not ideal.

Against the rigorous economic status around the world, it was the confidence towards the economic development in the future that was challenged. Along with the opened up and reform policies, the economy in China developed rapidly. As the opened-up structure featured with wider range, multiple levels and fully spread was basically formed and the construction of economic mechanism became more sophisticated and consolidated, the traditional “made in China” was no longer the trend and the rise of raw material cost and human resource cost put forward the pace of enhancing the product quality and technology upgrade.   

Canton Fair 2012 attracted numbers of famous forklift enterprises again. At the construction machinery zone and forklift zone, more than 20 forklift and material handling equipment manufacturers including Ruyi, Noblelift, Dalian Forklift, Banyitong, Tailift, XGMA, Maximal, Goodsense, Anhui TEU, UN Forklift, Shantui, Chery, Jingjiang, Heli, Huahe, Niuli, D&D, Eoslift, Jinmao, Shangli, Eagerman, Hongli, Dezhou Degong and Rhinoceros Engineering Machinery showed their products to the visitors, and parts of them launched the new products at the fair.  

The grandeur exhibition complex was located at Huangpu Port with more than one hundred years of history. From one port for the trades to the No.1 exhibition in China and even the world, Canton Fair was held alongside the Pazhou Tower with a long history to perform a legend and also to witness the span of the history.
