OPERATIONAL IN OVER 100 INDUSTRY SEGMENTS

Through years of innovation, devotion, and a dedication to the design and manufacture of rough terrain forklifts, Master Craft’s business has grown along with the maturation and expansion of the rough terrain forklift market. Today, Master Craft offers several different lines of rough terrain forklifts that range from 4,000 lb – 20,000 lb capacity that can be used in many different material handling disciplines and applications.

Within these different product sets, Master Craft offers a variety of engines, such as Perkins Tier II engines in sizes that range from 269-366 CID, as well as Caterpillar 3054C (the same type used in the Caterpillar 416D TLB), Cummins 239 CID, and John Deere. We also offer a variety of different drive axles and transmissions.

Furthermore, Master Craft has vertically integrated many different components that are typically outsourced in many of our competitors’ operations. For example, Master Craft has successfully manufactured our own steer axles for over 20 years. Through this steady process of innovation and improvements, we have refined our steer axles to some of the best in the industry: our steer axles offer the tightest turn radius in the industry with a turn angle of 58°. Additionally, we manufacture many of our own masts with a “free lift” option, and we manufacture our own hydraulic fork positioner and slope piler carriages (w/ 15, 21, & 43° rotations). Master Craft forklift machine frames, and the majority of their body parts, are built from one-inch steel plate, assuring longer life and greater durability.

Master Craft offers other prominent features, including synchromesh power shuttle transmissions, wet disc brakes sealed in oil, differential locks mast side shifters, engine key shut-offs (including diesel), overhead front work lights, electric back-up alarms, engine air pre-cleaners and independent transmission coolers.

We also offer many other options for our five rough terrain forklift product lines, and this variety helps the company meet the demands of both the market and the consumer. Every forklift is built to order and to our customer’s exacting specifications and demands in everyday applications as well as highly defined product niches.

We frequently build specialty units for many different areas. One example of our specialization is a specialized forklift designed and built for Amish communities. Due to the cultural differences that define this particular product niche, our forklifts used in this application are designed and manufactured with an “air” starter, with the air tank mounted in the steps of the vehicle filled with air from an engine-mounted air compressor. Starting the engine is as simple as pushing a button – air shoots to the engine and the cylinders start firing, and the unit starts right up.
