MCS, the rental software specialist, has developed an MCS-rm Telematics Hub that enables hire companies to derive real value from their existing manufacturer telematics, making them easily accessible within MCS’ comprehensive rental management solution, MCS-rm.

The main issue for rental companies is managing the wide variety of telematics providers available. Having to login to each manufacturer portal separately makes it far too impractical to get to the information efficiently from the plant hire fleet and into the hands of the Rental Desk Manager. The alternative is to install brand new telematics units across their entire rental inventory, at considerable expense, in order to have just one provider from which to source their telematics.

As a result, rental companies rarely use manufacturer telematics to their full potential and any time delays in accessing data from their rental solution means they can be quickly abandoned.

Within MCS’ new Telematics Hub, rental companies can configure and consolidate all their manufacturer logins in one place to enable them to lookup the equipment telematics data when needed directly from their MCS-rm hire solution.

MCS-rm Telematics Hub will help companies access and analyse equipment location, maintenance, fuel usage and utilisation information ensuring that it has been used according to the terms of their rental contract.
