STILL GmbH and the Jaidah Group agreed an exclusive partnership at the Customer Day in Doha on 24.11.2015. The two companies have already collaborated since 2014. Under the aegis of STILL Arser, the Jaidah Group is now STILL’s market ambassador. The family-run conglomerate headquartered in Doha can look back over a corporate history in the automotive, industrial plant and energy areas extending back to 1898.

Countries like the Emirate of Qatar are changing from raw materials suppliers to a production location and are also gaining worldwide recognition as a venue for international sporting events. This is ensuring increasing economic performance, rising domestic consumption and thus a growing demand for intralogistics. Thus they are growth markets which STILL is cultivating through intensive partnerships with the dealerships there. Qatar, especially the Doha international hub, occupy a strategic key position as the gateway to the Gulf region.

The close collaboration between STILL and the Jaidah Group extends far beyond the mere supply of equipment solutions. The communication of technical knowledge also plays an important part, since the extremely long distances in the Gulf region often make the use of classical service technicians impracticable. Therefore a trusting partnership also includes supplying the company’s own technicians with know-how from STILL’s service technicians.

A joint customer day helped the contracting partners to foster relationships with their regional clients. In addition to presenting STILL’s product portfolio, a specialist lecture was given on the topic of “Total Cost of Ownership”, because the widespread perception of looking only at the purchase price when concluding a contract is too short-sighted. Taking as an example innovative machines such as the electric forklift trucks RX 50 and the RX 20, the focus was on their comparatively low follow-up costs due to the long maintenance intervals as well as on their environmental friendliness.

The positive feedback after the presentation in Qatar shows that the organisers had the right idea: Thomas A. Fischer, Executive Director of Sales, Marketing and Service (CSO) for the STILL GmbH, stresses that “The Customer Day in Doha forms an important anchorage for the sustainable design of our EMEA (Europe - Middle East - Africa) strategy”.
