Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. today announced that it has selected MDT Software, a world leader in change management solutions for automated manufacturing assets, to join its e-F@ctory Alliance Program. MDT was selected because of its proven ability to solve the challenges of managing automation program changes. As an e-F@ctory Alliance product, MDT works with Mitsubishi Electric to ensure technical competence in providing change management support for Mitsubishi Electric Automation products.

MDT AutoSave is an enterprise source management solution to protect, save, restore, discover, and track changes in industrial programmable devices and documents. Integrating directly with Mitsubishi Electric technology, AutoSave provides superior change management for Mitsubishi Electric products including GX Works2, GX Developer, and C64 and C70 CNCs. An interactive environment with background monitoring allows complete control over device programs including secured user and workstation access, disaster recovery, controlled editor operations, and automatic change notification. For example, the AutoSave GX Works2 module performs edits, comparisons, and uploads. It supports both single file format and workspace format project types. The compare functionality provides an overall summary of the differences between the device and the revision, as well as details of logic changes.

“In modern manufacturing operations, adjustments to automation programs are essential to maximize performance, but they can also put the plant at risk for downtime and quality issues if these changes are not managed effectively,” said Robert Miller, senior manager, strategic collaborations and partnerships, Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. “MDT has solved this issue for a number of our customers with its version control and disaster recovery solution.”

“MDT has long enjoyed a collaborative relationship with Mitsubishi Electric Automation that has helped some of the world’s leading manufacturers achieve operational excellence,” said Gary Gillespie, vice president, MDT Software. “The selection of MDT in the e-F@ctory Alliance Program further validates our expertise in integrating with Mitsubishi Electric Automation technology to protect our customers’ intellectual property and help them avoid risk.”

Mitsubishi Electric’s e-F@ctory Alliance Program is a third-party referencing program with other automation hardware and software vendors that allows customers to select solutions that best solve their automation challenges. e-F@ctory Alliance third-party vendor solutions are tested with Mitsubishi Electric products, ensuring compatibility and ease of implementation.  Additional information is available at the e-F@ctory Alliance Program page on the Mitsubishi
