Toyota Material Handling UK has strengthened its Strategic Accounts team with three new team members, who together have over 60 years of experience within the material handling industry.

Toyota believes that to build long and successful business relationships with future customers it is important to gain an understanding of a customer’s business at all levels. This lead to the development of the Strategic Accounts department in 2011. Due to its success the team grew by three members in August 2013, this included promoting two members within the organisation, who between them have over 40 years of experience with Toyota Material Handling UK.

The Strategic Accounts team work together by utilising their many years of commercial and technical experience within the industry. By working collectively with all supporting departments within the Toyota organisation the team can offer the customer a tailored and innovative solution. David Howard, Head of Strategic Accounts explains, ‘Our aim is to build long-term sustainable business partnership. Toyota utilises its core values to gain a better understand of the customers organisation at all levels’. We feel it is a different way to approach a partnership. The main purpose of the team is to understand a company’s business and material handling operation at the beginning of a partnership and how it can benefit from the knowledge and level of experience of the team’.

Howard adds, "In order to be able to provide that unique experience the members of the team have been selected for their high levels of experience with customer relationships and within the material handling industry. This will benefit the customer when they are ready to move into the buying process as they have the relationship and trust already established with a member of the team".

Toyota Material Handling UK has received positive feedback from companies, regarding the dedication, and the customer first approach of the Strategic Accounts team. The team aims to continue to grow and become a first choice partner to anyone looking to improve their material handling operation.
