Crown Equipment Corporation, one of the world’s largest material handling companies, today announced that it has earned three sustainability awards from industry-leading publications within the past year. The awards recognize Crown for its global efforts
to minimize waste, manage energy use and maximize product and facility lifespan.

The publications and awards include the following:

Inbound Logistics’ Green Supply Chain Partner Award cites Crown’s commitment to a
sustainable supply chain as a reason the company is one to consider when readers seek
green supply chain management and logistics partners.

Food Logistics’ 2013 Top Green Providers Award acknowledges Crown for its products,
services and exemplary leadership that enhance sustainability in the food and beverage
industry.

Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s 2012 Green Supply Chain Award recognizes Crown for
its green practices and solutions that improve sustainability in the supply chain.

These industry recognitions coincide with the recent release of Crown’s 2013 ecologic  Report. The report highlights the company’s comprehensive approach to a clean environment and smart business through product development and manufacturing processes. Central to the company’s sustainability commitment is its integrated manufacturing approach that allows Crown to manage the impact of its operations on the environment through the use of advanced processes and precision technology.

“Our integrated manufacturing approach provides a level of control that delivers unsurpassed quality and increased reliability to our customers,” said Brian Duffy, Crown’s director of corporate environmental and manufacturing safety. “We build sustainability into every step of our manufacturing process to ultimately deliver energy-efficient, sustainable products so customers can meet their application needs while minimizing their environmental impact.”

Duffy also credits Crown employees for taking the initiative to practice sustainability within the facilities. “Our employees have embraced this strategy and have been instrumental in moving the organization forward as active participants in the area of sustainability,” he continued. “Employee involvement has been a pivotal piece of our sustainability commitment and has contributed significantly to our receiving these sustainability awards.”
