Toyota Material Handling France (TMH France) is the new organisation distributing BT and Toyota forklifts on the French market as of 1st January 2013.

The new organisation will take care of the sale and support of electric and IC -powered counterbalanced trucks under the Toyota brand as well as BT-branded warehouse trucks, via a network developed from the previous BT France operation together with 34 dealers throughout the country.

“We have always recognised the importance of the French market and have benefitted from a strong operation there since 1974,” says Matthias Fischer, President of Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE). “By combining the strength, experience and talent within the BT France operation with that of our new, additional dealer network, we can offer a unique level of coverage, competence and support within the French market.”
Customers in France will benefit from a network that includes 80 locations, 150 sales personnel and 450 fully trained service engineers able to work across the entire range of products.

“Our aim is to stay close to our customers and to fully understand and support their business needs,” explains Patrick Protais, President of TMH France. “Despite the size of the country we are able to give our customers the confidence of knowing that there will be an experienced technician within 25 km, wherever they are located. We have divided France into 8 regions to manage our operations, with the competence that we have brought forward from our BT France operation which is now further strengthened with 34 dealers.”

TMH France plans to open a new centre of expertise dedicated to counterbalanced trucks in the western region in June 2013, in addition to the two fleet management centres already established in Bussy in the Paris region and Dagneux near Lyon. "We are committed to providing a service that covers all aspects of material handling and our network must be fully trained in all our products and services. Through these centres, we are demonstrating our commitment to the quality of our offer and the service provided to our customers," says Patrick Protais.

The new operation also has the benefit of a complete range of trucks for short rental and a wide stock of ex-rental machines, as a result of combining the resources available with the new network. The short-term rental fleet is now one of the largest available in France – further supporting customer needs – and all ex-rental machines are catalogued on a dedicated website.

The new French organisation sources counterbalanced trucks and accessories from Toyota’s manufacturing site in Ancenis (TIESA), which is one of three production units operated by TMHE.
