Linde Material Handling has launched a revolutionary new hand pallet truck incorporating a brake. The new model, Pro Brake, is capable of lifting loads up to 2,500kg, providing a safer, more productive alternative in manual handling.

The effort involved moving the Pro Brake from stationary is one-sixth of that of a similar machine without a brake fitted. The unique ‘easy-start’ mechanism overcomes the initial inertia of a stationary truck, enabling the operator to get the laden machine moving quickly and effortlessly with no risk of a back injury.

The Pro Brake is extremely easy to use; a unique parking brake gives the operator absolute control of the truck, vital when handling heavy loads and with no danger of overrunning, especially important when operating on ramps. Small ground irregularities can be manoeuvered easily with minimal effort due to the unique design.

Jana Vitkova, warehouse product manager for Linde Material Handling, commented: "The Pro Brake will have a big impact in many applications, contributing to safer, more productive manual handling."

The Pro Brake has been nominated as a finalist at the Fork Lift Truck Association awards in the category of Innovation.
