The new mobile elevating work platform from Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE) is designed for dual-purpose reach trucks and one-man operation

In its continuous efforts to offer customers the most reliable material handling equipment that drives down costs, Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE) now introduces the mobile elevating work platform module for the BT Reflex R-series. The platform comes as an additional feature that creates a perfect match, enabling customers to benefit even more from the key qualities and the know-how of the reach truck. Indispensable in many storage and distribution systems, the BT Reflex R-series with Transitional Lift Control (TLC) and AC motors are reputed for their exceptional performance in high-lift applications. Used together, truck and platform are perfectly suitable for high-level maintenance work and inventory checking.

With this new feature, the operator has more freedom and control in operations: the platform offers the possibility to lift and lower, and to drive directly from the elevating cage. This allows for fast and efficient inventory and maintenance performed by one person. Together with the BT Reflex R-series, it successfully replaces the need for additional scissor-lifts. The work platform is available with the BT Reflex RRE160 and the BT Reflex RRE200 models. It can work at heights of up to 10 metres, and includes extra elements such as an ‘E-bar’ mounting for ancillary equipment together with a power supply.

In accordance with TMHE’s utmost care for creating safe products, the mobile platform is designed with an anti-slip floor and high safety rails, as well as emergency lowering and evacuation facilities. The speed is also limited to 2km/h when driving from the platform.
“The safety and the productivity of our customers lie at the core of our activity. We have created the mobile elevating work platform as a new additional option that offers them real savings. This solution reduces material handling costs eliminating the need for two-man crew operations. The platform can easily be removed, according to the customers’ specific requirements, enabling the truck to operate as a standard BT Reflex R-series reach truck,” says Therese Précenth, Product Manager, Toyota Material Handling Europe.
