The 111th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) was grandly opened at Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou on April 15, 2012. The Preparatory Committee of Canton Fair introduced to the media that the scale of the Fair this year was larger than last year. The number of exhibition stands reached 59434, creating another historical record. There were 24644 enterprises at home and abroad to attend the exhibition. Moreover, 1.118 million purchasers were invited to the exhibition, increasing 12.13% when compared with last year, and it was predicted that the turnover of the export would maintain the same level with last year.

The 111^th Canton Fair

The theme of the 111th Canton Fair was defined to be Opportunities and Challenges at the New Starting Point, hoping that the Canton Fair could go forward to make more innovations and improve the exhibition quality through grasping the development opportunities. Canton Fair would continue to serve the purchasers and exhibitors at the Fair, for realizing stable increase, structure adjustment and balance improvement of the foreign trade, so as to complete the predicted goal of increasing 10% of the foreign trade and to contribute to the development of the economy and society in China. As China has become the second largest economic entity and export country in the world, Canton Fair has already been an important platform for Chinese enterprises to enter International market, and also a gathering fair for industrial and commercial fields at home and abroad to communicate and negotiate cooperation with each other.
