Doosan Group Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Y.H. Park) held a signing ceremony to initiate Yonkang Grants for Environmental Academic Research with ten universities, including Kyungpook National University, at the Grand Ambassador Hotel in Jangchung-dong, Seoul on November 30.
Under the agreement signed at the ceremony, the Foundation transferred US$ 106,300 in research grants to ten accademics, including Prof. Keun-Oh Lee from the Department of Safety Engineering at Seoul National University of Science & Technology.
Chairman Y.H. Park said, “The environment and humanity are destined to co-exist, and so continued efforts to create a good living environment is a call of human-beings." He added, “We hope that achievements made through the Yonkang Grants for Environmental Academic Research will contribute to the development of knowledge and technology for the environment.”
Since 1993, Yonkang Foundation has provided US$ 1.3 million in research grants for 150 projects to professors in fields related environment and safety nationwide in a bid to expedite the development of environmental technology and galvanize research in Korea. The Foundation publishes the “Yonkang Journal of Environmental Academic Research Papers” and distributes the publication to major universities, libraries and research institutions every year.
