It was informed on October 31, 2011 that the two famous brands BT and Raymond, belonging to the world largest industrial vehicle manufacturers Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc., had officially entered the Chinese market.

According to the information from Chinaforklift.com (www.chinaforklift.com, English version: www.forkliftnet.com), BT Industrial Vehicle (Foshan) Co., Ltd. was established in June, 2011 in Nanhai, Foshan. The company was specialized in designing and manufacturing forklifts, towing tractors, automated storage system, pallet truck, automated guide vehicle and the spare parts. Besides, BT (Foshan) sold the self-manufactured precuts and offered after sales service, and also was engaged in the wholesales, export and import of the related products. With overall investment reaching about 6 million dollars, BT (Foshan) is constructed with a total land area of 4805 square meters and a building area of 3276 square meters. The company is expected to put into production in January, 2012 and the anticipated production amount of the company will have reached 750 sets of electric pallet trucks and 750 sets of electric stackers used for material handling operation.

Raymond Industrial Vehicle (Dalian) Co., Ltd. had been established in August, 2011 in Dalian Economic & Technological Development Zone in Liaoning Province, to manufacture the products that were branded in Raymond. Raymond, a branched company of Japan Toyota Inc., was the famous manufacturer of indoor towing tractors and forklifts. The new company in Dalian will produce small-sized electric towing tractors in China. There were a few number of Raymond towing tractors and forklifts were under operation in the auto manufacturers in North East China before Toyota invested in China. Along with the development of auto industry in China and Asia, the demand on small-sized towing tractors is increasing. While electric towing tractor is not only the small-sized necessary towing equipment for the modern auto manufacturing enterprises, but also the matching products for modernized logistics enterprises, Raymond (Dalian) will take it as the dominant product to step by step expand the auto and modern logistics markets in China.

Till now, the main three brands belonging to Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc. had basically finished the layout in China. According to the current situation, Toyota will specialize in producing towing tractors in North China, electric material handling vehicles in South China and internal combustion engine forklifts in East China, forming a complementary triangle on the most developed economic rim in China along the coastline.
