Global Construction Machinery Industry Meeting & World Top 50 Construction Machinery Manufacturers Summit was held from October 19 to 20, 2011. On the summit, Su Zimeng, the Secretary General of China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA) made an address, saying that the output and sales amount of construction machinery in China were both ranking to be No.1 in the world. Now when it was also among the period of the 11th Beijing International Construction Machinery Exhibition & Seminar (BICES 2011), on which the giants in the world construction machinery industry gathered together to communicate in terms of the future development of the industry, Global Construction Machinery Industry Meeting & World Top 50 Construction Machinery Manufacturers Summit was grandly opened after delicate preparation of more than one year. It was the first time that this summit was held in Beijing, China. I, on behalf of the sponsor of the summit—China Construction Machinery Association, Association of Equipment Manufacturers (formerly CIMA), Japan Construction Machinery Association (JCMA) and Korea Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association, thanks to all the leaders and guests, to the World Top 50 Construction Machinery Manufacturers, to the peers who have been contributing to the growth of construction machinery industry in China and the world, to the friends from the media and to the friends who concern and support the development of construction machinery industry to attend this summit. Since the burst of international financial crisis, global construction machinery industry entered a new and crucial development stage, during which the whole industry faced with new adjustments, emerged new reforms and embraced new breakthroughs. Against this situation, various construction machinery enterprises have been welcoming the developing opportunities as well as the rigid challenges from the market. This era calls for peace, harmony and cooperation, and now this call becomes even louder. Based on this status, China Construction Machinery Association cooperated with Association of Equipment Manufacturers (formerly CIMA), Japan Construction Machinery Association (JCMA) and Korea Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association, and decided to hold this summit. With the theme of Opportunity, Integration and Response, we invite the leading construction machinery enterprises in the world to gather here to discuss about the development perspectives of construction machinery industry, aiming at strengthening the communication and cooperation between the construction machinery industries in different region of the world as well as between the construction machinery enterprises, in order to push forward the further development and harmonious integration of the global construction machinery industry.

It was known that the construction machinery market in China has become one of the open markets full of competitions and with the highest internationalization in the world. Nowadays, 37 of the 39 foreign enterprises ranking in the list of world top 50 construction machinery manufacturers has entered Chinese market and constructed their sophisticated business system. Most of them invested on building manufacturing and development bases, continuously perfecting their layouts in China. At present, China had become the strategic core of these foreign enterprises to conduct global expansion.

In recent years, the construction machinery industry in China changed the developing way, and received an obvious improvement in terms of adjusting the economic structure. Most of the Chinese enterprises gradually completed the transfer to grow and development under the drive of value from the pure increase on scale and market-driven development in the past. These enterprises enhanced their comprehensive strength in a rapid rate, dramatically improved their competitive force on the international market and steadily consolidated their positions in the global field. Till now, the output and sales amount of the construction machinery industry are both ranking to be the No.1 in the world, and the industry has met 90% of the marketing demands in mainland China.
