In order to better practice the strategic arrangement of the twelfth five-year plan so as to continuously promote the development model of diversified products, Shantui Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (Shantui) undertook the task of designing 4-6 tonnage three-wheel electric tractors after thorough investigation and check of the market conducted by Heavy Duty Forklift Research Institute.

The design task was started from the middle of this June. The staff in the Institute overcame the difficulties such as the shortage of human resources and materials. Through actively studying to make up the shortcomings, the Institute used only one month to finish the task of designing all the drawing pictures of the systems and sent to the related units on July 22 after repetitive matching and calculation of driving and electric systems. The fast completion of the design work had not only saved a lot of precious time of product trial, but also laid sound foundation for the successful production of the new product. The design of 5 ton electric tractor established a new platform for Shantui to manufacture tractors, becoming another new bright point for the rapid development of the company.
