The Sydney based manufacturer of concrete pumps, Transcrete, has delivered its third unit powered by the JCB Dieselmax diesel engine. The Transcrete Trojan Spraymaster is busy working in the south Queensland market spraying concrete to form new swimming pools.

Transcrete and Power Equipment, the authorised Distributor for both JCB and Yanmar diesel engines, have enjoyed a long and happy supplier / manufacturer relationship. Transcrete uses Yanmar diesel engines for their small concrete pump applications. But when bigger power was needed, Transcrete sourced engines from an alternative supplier.

“That all changed when Power Equipment became the distributor for JCB diesel engines,” said Ian Hay of Transcrete.

“The JCB model engine takes over from where the Yanmar power range finishes, so it is a good fit for our bigger Transcrete truck mounted pumps. The JCB brand is highly regarded on worksites throughout Australia so we have no hesitation in fitting it to our Transcrete products.”

The Transcrete Trojan Spraymaster comprises a Fuso Fighter 6 truck body with flat tray. Behind the cabin is a compressor and at the rear the JCB engine drives the Transcrete pump. This particular pumping system is ideally suited to swimming pools, sub terrain car parks and shotcrete highways.

According to the Transcrete engineers, the JCB diesel engine is the perfect engine for the task. Not only does it deliver strong, reliable power, but the direct drive off the flywheel end of the engine ensures that the close coupled hydraulic pump is both neat and highly accessible.

Another winning feature of the JCB engine is the low fuel consumption. In an industry where operation is measured in hours per day, six days a week, the fuel saving of a half a litre of fuel per cubic meter of concrete pumped, really adds up to a significant amount of money at the end of a year. This pump is designed to easily operate for 8 hours a day and longer.

At the heart of the Transcrete Trojan Spraymaster is the JCB Dieselmax engine. This is a 4-cylinder, 4.4 litre powerhouse boasting 4 valves per cylinder with high torque at low speeds. This engine is rated at 85kW at 2200 rpm.
