During this year’s Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg (April 05-07), Liebherr-Aerospace showed a cockpit and cabin air humidification system at its booth no. E 35 in hall 5.

Liebherr’s cockpit and cabin air humidification systems are the most comprehensive answer to the health and comfort of passengers and crews. Usually, the relative humidity level on board can cause discomfort, fatigue, dry noses and throats as well as sore eyes. The humidification system on display at Aircraft Interiors Expo uses boiled sterile water and mineral-free steam to provide a relative humidity level of 25 %, which significantly improves the comfort and health of crew and passengers. The maintenance of this level is constantly monitored and controlled by a closed loop multi-zone humidity regulation. Liebherr offers two different technologies, based on either electrical or bleed systems.

Liebherr electrical air humidification systems are already in use in Airbus long range fleets for crew rest applications. Bleed air humidification systems are already on board VIP business jet aircraft such as Bombardier’s Global Express and the Falcon 7X by Dassault for passenger applications. In addition to that, several massive projects for individual VIP customers on different aircraft types such as Airbus A319 / A330 / A340-500/-600 and Boeing B757 / B747-400 have been carried out together with completion centers. Liebherr holds its own Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for B747-400 applications.
