Doosan Corporation Mottrol (Chief: Taesung Yun), Korea’s top hydraulic machine maker, has attained a cumulative production of 1 million units for the first time in Korea.
Doosan Corporation Mottrol attained the 1 million unit mark 26 years after it started producing related products. The company achieved the milestone approximately 10 years earlier than its Japanese rivals, which are leading the industry. Companies for producing hydraulic machines for construction equipment that have attained this milestone include KPM and Kayaba of Japan, and Boschrexroth of Germany, as well as Doosan Corporation Mottrol.
Hydraulic machines are core parts that require ultrahigh precision technology, and were considered to be an area that Korea would not be able to overcome the barriers set by advanced companies. But Doosan Corporation Mottrol attained the 1 million unit mark by securing independent technologies through constant technology development and investment.
Doosan Corporation Mottrol is currently producing 25,000 units of hydraulic machines for heavy construction machinery annually, and supplies products to Korean and overseas markets, including China and the U.S. The company controls a 14 percent share of the global market, ranking third in the industry.
Doosan Corporation Mottrol will continue to expand related businesses through continuous investment. At the same time, it plans to commercialize products for renewable energy, including gearboxes for wind power generators. In addition, the company will seek to reinforce its market dominance in existing foreign markets such as China. It will also step up its marketing efforts in new markets, thereby reading US$ 8.9 million in sales in 2014, and emerging as a top-class hydraulic pressure device maker in the world
