Over the past few months a new Jungheinrich truck solution — the Auto Pallet Mover — has been successfully put through the paces in a variety of field tests, and is already in operation at several customers. The official unveiling of this innovation will be at CeMAT 2011.

The Jungheinrich Auto Pallet Mover (APM) is an automated guided truck designed to move independently around the warehouse. The main application of the driverless transport system is handling routine transport jobs — for instance, from incoming goods or from the production site to a transfer point in the racking system. The Hamburg-based company will be officially premiering this innovative truck solution to a world audience at CeMAT 2011. The Jungheinrich APM heralds dramatic improvements in productivity.

The dedicated control and guidance system not only ensures proper route planning and vehicle coordination, but also optimises the traffic flow. Comprehensive safety features guarantee collision-free and safe operation in all warehouse environments. The APM can operate as a stand-alone solution or be integrated in a warehouse management system. The Auto Pallet Movers are designed around Jungheinrich’s range of reliable, tried-and-tested series-production trucks. In addition to high availability, flexibility and easy customisation, the option of customisation or adding a wide range of attachments characterises the substantial advantages of this materials handling solution. Like Jungheinrich’s series-production trucks, the APMs are integrated into the company’s world-wide service network — known for its fast reaction times.

Jungheinrich ranks among the world’s leading companies in the material handling equipment, warehousing and material flow engineering sectors. The company is a service provider with manufacturing operations as well as an intralogistics solution provider, which offers its customers a comprehensive range of forklift trucks, shelving systems, services and consulting. Jungheinrich shares are traded on all German stock exchanges.
