Merseyside-based Plant Hire UK Ltd has invested heavily in its fleet with the purchase of 250 new JCB models during 2010.

The huge order includes 230 JCB Loadalls - which are the world’s best selling telescopic handlers -12 JCB Vibromax tandem vibratory rollers, four JCB Micro excavators, three JCB 2CX Airmaster backhoe loaders and a JCB VMT850 double drum vibratory compactor.

Supplied by dealer Gunn JCB, Plant Hire UK Ltd has taken an extensive selection of the JCB Loadalls, ranging from compact models through to the 540-170 which offers a lift capacity of 4.0 tonnes and a max lift height of 16.7 metres.

The latest of these telescopic handlers to be delivered incorporate JCB’s Adaptive Load Control. Adaptive Load Control is designed to ensure JCB telescopic reach machines comply with the new European regulation EN 15000. This legislation has been introduced to reduce the likelihood of forward overturning of a variable reach truck performing stationary loading or placing operations on consolidated, stable and level ground, by the use of an automated Longitudinal Load Moment Control.

The latest deliveries mark a significant milestone in the relationship between the two companies as the total number of JCB Loadalls purchased has now hit 500 since Plant Hire UK was established five years ago.

Graham Jones, Plant Hire UK Ltd Managing Director, said: “We have used JCB telehandlers since we started because they are high quality, easy to operate, reliable and the back-up and parts availability are second to none. Nothing has changed in our eyes, as these huge milestones demonstrate - you get what you pay for and JCB is clearly number one when it comes to telehandlers.

“The ongoing update of our fleet is part of our commitment to provide customers with the latest and safest equipment in excellent condition, ensuring no machine is more than two years old. The JCB models continue to be popular and these new machines are already all out on hire. Customers like the brand and our engineers know the products well. The sheer volume and variety of equipment we have taken from JCB reflects our continued and ambitious growth coupled with an excellent rapport with our dealer Gunn JCB which continues to deliver superb service and support.”

Delivering general plant hire services nationwide, Plant Hire UK Ltd offers an extensive range of quality equipment from leading manufacturers. Following a major investment programme it can provide a full selection of brand new bowsers, mixers, rollers, dumpers, backhoe loaders, rough terrain forklifts, mini excavators, midi excavators and telehandlers (including associated attachments).

All equipment complies with the latest health and safety standards and security measures are available, guaranteeing the safety of personnel and a reduction of insurance premiums. Around the clock service cover is provided by a team of qualified and competent engineers who ensure that all breakdowns receive assistance within 4 hours.
