Mark Gray from Woolworths has defended his National Forklift Championship title with a 2010 win at the Sydney Safety Show & Materials Handing Exhibition last week.
Pamela Windsor from Woolworths was named the champion in the female category with a score of one point difference between the male and female champions. While Kingi Turnbull form Bevchain joint venture took out the title for this year’s novel category, ten pin bowling, receiving a scaled model forklift.
Hosted by the Australian Warehousing Association, championship was considered a great success with 18 finalists competing. The level of competition and contestant’s knowledge and skill was much higher than last year, according to judges.
Trophies were presented by Paul Bennett General Manager of Adaptalift Hyster who thanked the contestants for their participation and the organisers for the opportunity to be part of this growing Australian event.
New Zealand is set to compete in next year’s champions as Australian Warehousing Association’s plan to expand the event across the Asia Pacific region.
